I have a 1993 Dethleffs integrated (sometimes called A Class) Globetrotter motorhome which is generally in very good condition. When I bought it from Germany (private sale) there were a few things that were needing attention, none of them could be described as serious - and I have dealt with almost all of them. However, there are a couple of things in the interior that are needing replaced. These things are strictly to do with the superstructure (not the motor manufacturer's part) and are quite unique to these units. When I tried to get them from Dethleffs they were stated as discontinued. Apart from being fobbed off (somewhat brusquely, I thought) it has surprised me how that seems to be the absolute end of the road. With cars you can always find second hand parts, not so (it appears) with motorhome interiors, etc. I have tried sourcing what around where I live would be called a scrappie - a motorhomes breaker in other parts of the UK - and I have come up empty handed. What has surprised me most of all is that in Germany, where there are still lots of these about (and Germans have a reputation for being thrifty), there appears to be not a single motorhomes scrappie. There must be a few of these (many if you take in all makes and models) being scrapped every year - what happens to them ? It has been suggested that there is a conspiracy between insurance companies (who write them off) and the motorhome manufacturers: Deliberately force vehicles into oblivion through starvation of parts - the theory being that then there is increased demand for expensive new ones. Does anyone know of a source of used motorhome parts anywhere in Europe - thus proving the theory wrong ?

What sort of parts are you looking for?

Have you tried the Dethleffs Owners Club ? They have recently launched what they describe as a "tech helpline" for parts. The following is quoted from their site:

Help with parts and problems. June 2009 we have launched a new FREE Email-Back-By-Return tech helpline. Last year we helped over 63 members to stay mobile. Windscreens, upholstery, delivery, body parts for older Dethleffs, replacement water caps......Oh, and the perennial: Charging Systems! We have great contacts and we are not afraid to use them!!

They do state that you have to be a member of the club to use the helpline - membership is currently £15 a year and that also gets you various supplier discounts.
