Just wandering if anyone can help us. We bought a Lunar Pinnacle 2008 motor home 6 weeks ago, she's lovely but to our disappointment someone cracked our rear nearside bumper, we are having heavens own job trying to find a replacement. I have been told Lunar are from Belgium but i can't find anything on the net (Mind you, I'm a computer virgin practically) if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated. We have had it to a good garage but it can't be repaired:(
Hard luck damaging the bumper (?) - well, rear trim panel!
I would assume that the panel is made of some sort of thermo-plastic. That being the case it should be quite simple to have it repaired by plastic welding. The Panels are often made in white plastic and then painted, so a weld and a re-spray should be a fairly simple and inexpensive job if done by an expert.
If you are skilled with your hands you can even do it yourself.
Have a look at this video, for example:
Or speak to these people, www.thebumperman.co.uk/ or someone equivalent. I found these in a few seconds by searching on Google, using the search terms 'plastic bumper welding'
Thank you so much for this info, it is greatly appreciated. We did manage to find somebody to repair it but it's nice to know there are people out there for us new comers, and we have kept the bumperman details..THANKS
WE have the same problem with vehicles in our Hire fleet,www.scottishtourer.co.uk
bumpers are a rip off to buy from the dealers.... if you can get one.
Our local body shop has a plastic welder after they have been repaired you cant tell the difference fromn ew and usually costs us around £85.00 per repair
