Sometimes also called a 'Pop Top' the converter cuts away the van roof and fits a roof section that can be raised up when the vehicle is parked to gain increased headroom. Often a bunk is fitted in the elevated roof section, although it may be a bit small for a fully grown adult. It has the advantages of the 'High Top', without it's disadvantages.

This is a purpose built motorhome where the manufacturer builds the body onto a new chassis/engine unit. The advantages are that the interior is more spacious because the 'cab' area is usually part of the accommodation and many have a 'pull-down' double bed above the front seats which can be left made up, as do most of the Hymers in this class.
